This is a picture of my father, uncle and grandfather back in the '50's. (My Dad is in the middle) The dog was called "Queenie" and was a buddy of mine when I was a kid. Today, the farm is gone, dad and grandfather is gone and the pheasants are gone.
Anyone else have old hunting pictures to post??

Ahhhhhh....... sweet memories of days gone by. This one brings a tear...... A very nice pic, Steve, and thanks for sharing it.
My Dad has some from deer camps back in the mid-late 50's........ I heard the stories from those camps, but didn't start hunting until the early 60's. This makes me want to go see Dad and get out the old pictures and have an evening of reminiscing.....
Here's a toast to all the hunting buddies gone on......
Thanks....... and keep cherishing those memories.

I hope a lot of people post old hunting pictures love to see the old bolt action shot gun and the way people dressed back then. Sorry to say I didn't hunt with my dad when I was a kid. He didn't small game hunt and deer hunting was a playing cards and drinking with the old boys and I was married before I got invited. He did take me fishing a lot when I was a kid and here is a picture from 1955. I was prouder of the hat then the spotted green fish (was walleye fishing in the U.P.) Dads 86 now and still fishes with me every week end.http://www.hunting-pictures.com/members/wormdunker/me%20and%20bass%202.jpg

Stelmon,
Relax, the coon picture is actually very small in size and no threat to our bandwidth.

A few more if I did this correctly.
Dad's first deer taken in 1950. For those of you that know the Gaylord area, the picture was taken behind a farm house which is still there on old 27, south of Schlang's Bavarian Inn.

Dad's first hunt, 1947. He didn't get a buck but two others did.

I found these pictures last night and thought I would post them. They are only vintage to me since I am only 31. They are from 1985 and 1986. If you would like an explanation of the photos you can click on the WWW link at the bottom for my picture post.
By the way, I enjoyed everyone's photos which makes me say again, they may only be vintage to me but I hope you guys enjoy them. They bring back the same memories to me that your photos do to you. Maybe that is the definition of vintage.

This is my Dad and I at the cabin in "UP North" Mich. It's about 1967.
Proper target practice clothes were a pastel shirt with black & red Striped flare pants!
That's a Bear Polar bow for Dad, and I have a Bear Grizzly bow with fiberglass arrows.

As I browsed through the photos and read the comments I got a chuckle out of the various definitions of "old". Photos from the from the 40's up to the 70's are included. Being one of the more seasoned veterans in here, age wise anyway, I must humorously protest any photo that is defined as "old" from 1950 to the present. All in good humor of course.

Is it just me, or does gunrod look like one of the Walton boys?! I think it is JimBob. I used to love watching that show. I remember that episode where John Boy couldn't get the nerve enough to shoot that big old gobbler up in the mountain. I was so mad. I wanted to see a good turkey shot. Good pictures guys.
