CX Maxima collars?

Does anyone know why CX started putting collars on the nock end?
Did they have a splitting problem?
I shot mine all last season and had no problems. They didn't come with collars.
Did they get a bad batch? Is it for looks to make them stand out more. They do look nice.
I used Bohning nocks.

I think they had problems with nocks staying in the arrow shaft...

Yes there were splitting problems.

I got 2 robin hoods on CX shafts this past year. I just bought some new Maximas that have them on, and I was told it was to deflect another arrow and reduce damage.
