View Full Version : Great Lakes Grey Wolves taken off Endangered Species list

I found this article and thought to share it. It states that the grey wolf population in the Great Lakes area has risen to a point that they are no longer endangered in the U.S.

Does anyone think that with the complaints over wolves taking too many deer, livestock, and the recent killing of a man that the DNR will consider opening seasons on the grey wolf?

They have not been taken off yet. There undoubtedly will be court cases if they are just like when it was tried before. I would not want to guess what the state might or might not do until they have the authority to do it and according to the article you posted, that would not even be for about another year if everything runs smoothly, which it won't.:evilsmile

Here in MI? I haven't heard of this one. Where I work, our phones would never stop ringing on this issue....

The recent killing of a man by wolves was in Canada. The article is in Outdoor Life Magazine

I hope there is an open season. I will be the first in line to buy as many tags as allowed to help:evil:

Like I've said in other posts. I've been followed out of the woods by 3 of em and would love to see em again this year with a tag.
