Summer Transducer

I have a Marcum LX-3 that i've been using for ice fishing. I am going to use it in the summer, and just wanted some advice on which transducer to use. I don't want to get the hi-speed transducer because I already have a graph fish finder. I really can't use the puck one either because my trolling motor is a transom mount not bow mount. I'd like to just stay with the ice transducer and use that...does anyone use it that way? Any tips on mounting it on the boat? I called marcum and they said the ice transducer will work that way, but I wanted some of your opinions....thanks!

I tried using my iceducer on my vex for open water fishing, and couldn't get in sinc too well. I'm thinking about going with an alumiducer shoot through the hull this year. I see Al Linder uses a flasher up front for jigging, but did not see what transducer he was using.
