have you ever tried trolling this is a way to cover a lot of water and catch a ton of fish if they are scaterd like they are write now this works best in the late spring and summer when they suspend over deep water

I did something last spring and I called it bobber trolling. The crappies dropped off the bank on a cold day and went down and spread over a 10ft flat. Set out two 10ft rods and two 6ft rods, all with slip bobbers at various depths to start. 2 rods with jig and minnow, 2 with plastics. Set out all 4 bobbers behind the boat, almost like planer boards. Edged the boat along just bumping the trolling motor every 30 seconds.....just barely creeping along, I watched the pull on the bobbers to guage the speed. Crappies hooked themelves every time and the bobber would sink. Once the best depth was found all 4 rods were adjusted. We caught fish until after dark that night.
