Well i have my most productive(plastics), then i have my favorite(topwater).
Well i have my most productive(plastics), then i have my favorite(topwater).
I agree with this 100%.
Have you guys seen the new Mann's hardnose baits? I've got some to try, sounds like a good idea, may not tear up so bad. What really looked good to me is Mann's new worm made for wacky rigging, it has the hardened plastic in the middle. I love to fish wacky rigs but you sure go through the baits.
Man, can't wai to get out! :fish:

Wacky style is when you hook a soft plastic lure like a senko through the middle. Try a google search.

Flukes are better than Senkos just what I think. If you want to see why come fish with me in late May.

I don't have any one favorite bait anymore. Adapt to the seasons, time of day, water temp and weather. If you have one bait that works in all the variables, patent it! My favorite WAY to catch bass is still topwater. Can't beat a modified Devils Horse.

Take an immitation Senko that is a bit harder than the original. I really like BPS' Stik-O, despite the name. Rig Texsposed, fish it like a soft jerkbait. Best walk the dog action I have ever seen. Can be done on top, subsurface, or with an insert weight, down to about 5' or so. Instantly adaptable too: can be fished from fast to deadsticking.

I love using 3" slug-gos in arkansas shiner color carolina rigged. Its really good in clear water. sometimes im so attached to this bait i overlook other good baits when I should be using them.

My seek and destroy lure would have to be the 5" yamamoto grub in smoke or purple.

I think someone said something similar above, but favorite is spinners, but most productive is probably plastics of various sorts

Another way i serve my senkos to bass is by cranking them fast over top of lilly pads. BOOM!!!!! Got to love the bass explode on them.

I just looked up "Plow Jockey" in Google. For many years my favorite bass bait was the K&E 3 hook worm. Black with white stripe or the orange with green tail/stripe. Used to buy these by the dozen.

berkley or mizmo tube in white or blue fleck. i use a jig designed for tubes. usually 1/8-3/8 oz. i also like 4-5" lizards in pumpkin seed with a chart. tail. back and blue is good too. jig and pig.....i could go on forever talking about favorite bass baits. i guess my favroite is the one im catching fish on at the time. ....but overall, im a jig guy, tipped with plastic or pork.;)
I agree with HOOT and FISHONBB, so make room on the bandwagon. IMHO topwater is the most exciting, but plastics are the most productive for me. HOOT I did see those Mann Hardnose and picked up a couple different colors of the frogs I cant wait to use. Good fishing everyone.

In the spring i like to use a plain lead Jighead with either a black or blue twiser tail grub about 2 inches long. Works wonders on bass and some slab crappies too!

I can't believe Scum Frogs did not come up
They kinda did in a roundabout fashion.......
I have started tying up some of my own versions of weedless inverted hook topwaters for the fly rod too.

i agree, bar none, top water is the most exciting. whether it a scum frog in reeds or mats, or chuggin a pop 'r', top water is the cats meow.too bad they wont bite up there all the time. zara spooks and buzz baits too.:dizzy: :D

favorite: buzz baits
most productive - TRig plastics, senkos, hula-grubs, ..... drop shots
as far as big fish - can't beat a 12" gold shiner back hooked on a weedless 4/0 wide-gap 2' under a float.... fished in the pads adjacent to deep water on the st. john's river / lake george in FL in Feb/Mar. produces my biggest bass to date (7.5lbs) and several over 6. i've had 4 over 9lbs come into the same boat, although i've never caught one :(

Last year soft plastic jerk baits was the big fish lure for me. Spinnerbaits are always good during cloudy and/or rough water conditions

I am only 22 but my favorite bass lure is something that has been around around a long long time..The Moss Boss with some kind of soft plastic added (i have had a lot of luck with craws but have also had lizards work.) works awesome...you can rip them threw some pretty nasty water and get some good fish
