Bait

Does anybody collect there own bait? Why I ask is I over heard a conversation in a bait shop about a guy who get his grubs from acrons. Does anybody know how this is done?

A bait shop owner told me how this is done. Place acorns in a 5 gallon bucket that has some sand in the bottom. Use damp newspaper as a cover for the top of the bucket. The acorn grubs will burrow into the sand. Haven't tried it yet, but planning on it next fall.

You have to get the acorns right when they fall otherwise the worms will burrow out...A good check when you pick the acorn up is if it has a small hole in it, the grub is already gone...
