What knots do you guys use when jigging? I've tried using a loop knot and found it very weak so I always stick wtih the palmor knot.

I use a Palomar and/or a Trilene knot for just about everything. They've both proven to be very strong knots to me.;)

I also use the Improved clinch knot, very easy to tie, and I havent had a fish untie that know on me yet. I use it on everything

palomar knot This is one of only 2 100% knots that I know, and the easiest of the two to tie. If tied right the line should break before the knot.

The first couple of times I used florocarbon line I had a terrible time with break offs. I'd found the trilene and cinch knots tended to be the wink link when using a florocarbon leader. I quit using straight floro's because of that issue. I've since been advised to use a palomar knot when tying up to floro's. I've not tried it yet but will be very soon!

Same here Burksee....went through that a couple years back....No problems with the palomar knot slipping.......still the Flourocarbon seems brittle and not to my liking for Icefishing...switched back to Trilene XT and no-problems!!

I started practicing the rapala knot. It seems really strong and allows the bait to move naturaly.

I use Green Fireline as my main line as it's easier to see when I using the Minn-Kota to keep the line vertical. I use a 3 - 4 foot flourocarbon leader and a Palomar knot to the jig. Works for me !
