I launched out the rowboat today looking for crappies. That wind had the chop all up, almost too much for my little boat to take. I couldn't get a single crappie to take my minnow, but managed to boat six largemouths in about an hour. I never thought I'd be hooking big bass this early, but I'll take what I can get at this point............................................. ...

I was fishing my crappie spot in Plymouth. I released all of them, of course; I just never figured they be so aggressive this early in the year. The boss was about 18", fun first fish of the season on ultralight............

A friend of mine said they had caught bass all winter through the ice. This had been a relatively warm winter, though. I'm just upset I couldnt hit any crappies!

Where are you getting your minnows from? I didn't know they sold them anywhere around here.

Gander Mountain in Novi has minnows, I believe they may have been the first to stock them around here. I can let you know next time I head out there. I buy them five dozen at a time, and I have a pond that will keep them fresh for quite a while.
