A special project in Lincoln Park
Nick Randall is one of the people the Lincoln Park Lions Club had in mind when it decided to build a park tailored for those with disabilities.
Randall, 20, has cerebral palsy and is blind. He said he is looking forward to the new park because it would allow him and others with disabilities to enjoy the outdoors in a way that they can't at a traditional park.

The article said the city is donating Old Council Point Park. This is the first I heard about this-seems like a good idea. I'm curious is this the same Council Point on River Drive? I live close to there. There's 2 soccer fields, ball diamonds a walking/jogging track, an in-line hockey rink and a playscape there.

No, the park they plan to build will be at the end of LeBlanc street by the creek across from the Little League fields. I just wonder if they plan on moving the over head power lines or building farther south below where the lines cross over the creek into Wyandotte.
It's a great plan they just need more money. I understand they are a long way from their million dollar goal.

I didn't either until you pointed it out and then was told again today that Council Point isn't really Council Point. I just happen to see a site plan for the Lions Park and knew where they were talking about.
I always thought the name of the park referenced the point that juts into the creek in the very back of the park behind the baseball diamonds but apparently that is wrong.
