No way, we went there and got skunked. We seen this boat that was nailing them with slip bobbers, and a couple boats catching some, but, we didn't even get a hit.

Slip bobbers was the only way to go today. It seem like they wouldn't take it right next to the boat. Away from the boat is what they wanted. One after another, it was on!! :fish: :fish: :fish2: JIGGAFISH1 STARCRAFT 190

We went there from about 1-2, maybe it was an evening bite. But, even then, a couple of boats where nailing them, and we didn't get what we were doing wrong.

Yep, we just bought a ton of slip bobbers, and will try that next time.

Where are the cross dykes?

The cross dike runs roughly east - west ('cross river) between the eastern edge of Sugar Island and the north-south dikes that define the Livingston Channel. Be aware that the Cross Dike crosses into Cdn waters at about 250' west of the Livingston dike - don't go there unless you have a cdn license. This is about 2.5 miles east of the Lake Erie Metropark public launch. From the launch go north, above Celeron Island and past the southern tip of Grosse Ile. Meso, Hickory and Sugar Islands are off the southeastern edge of Grosse Ile and form the eastern edge of Gibralter Bay.

There is no doubt some great fishing at the Cross Dike. It is not going to happen on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday that is for sure.

The increased fishing pressure and boating activity on the weekends pushes the schools around so the fishing is not as consistant as it is in other areas.

There is a white spire that is permanently mounted on the Dike which marks the US/Canada boarder. You can see it on the map which was posted by cshire. It is displayed as a Triangle just above the k in dike which was added onto the map.
