I just pulled my out drive to do some work on it. I built this stand out of a $14 wooden dolly, 4 short 2X4s, 4 small pieces of 3/4 OSB, 16 2-1/2 inch drywall screws, and 4 1/4X20 stove bolts and nuts. I had all the stuff on hand except the dolly. I made the stand so it could be removed from the dolly by taking out the four 1/4 inch stove bolts. That way I can use the dolly for other things. The gear lube is draining as I type. It's EZ to move the out drive around and even store it on the stand. Next Fall I will put the outdrive on the stand before I put the boat away. The boat stays in a fairly warm garage all winter, so I can work on it as I find the time. Check out these pics.:)

I was able to get at the drain screw just fine with a reg. legth screwdriver. I did take an old screwdriver and grind the blade to fit the vent and drain screw. They do have a wide slot so I didn't want to mess them up. I use an empty one gallon antifreeze jug with one side cut out of it to place under the outdrive.:)
