my biggest ever was 11.1 with one other just over 9. I ended up keeping 2 4 pounders that day and released a bunch more. He caught 3 that day that were over 8--and get this THOSE 3 were his first EVER walleyes. He wasn't happy when our subsequent trips were nowhere near as fruitful. I was fishing on shore in the Titt up by dow dam, 5 or 6 years ago. There were probably 15 other guys nearby and you should have seen their faces when my buddy and I released those hogs, it was priceless.

25 inches, just under 5 pounds....and i have fished the Detroit river probably thousands of times. We just always like to avoid the big crowds in spring, and go for pike and perch when everyone else is going for them pig eyes. But, we go for eyes in summer alot....the eye fishing gets better, not the 10+ers, but, you can limit on eaters in an hour easy.
But, plan to give it a try this year.

Mine was a 29 1/2 in 9 1/2 male caught in the grand last week of August on a blue/silver cleo. Released.
A guy fishing with his son next to me begged ( almost tackled me ) not to release it.... even offered money, said he wanted to mount it to put on his trophy wall .....I got it into the water that much quicker!!!;)

My biggest ever was out of the Rifle about 8 years ago, during April. I never weighed it, but It's the biggest eye' I've ever seen, she couldn't even fight she just wallowed, she was that fat! My biggest weighed is a 10.25lb female I caught from shore at night on the Saginaw river in Bay City on Nov.29 1999, on a big orange/black Husky jerk, hand-landed:D . I also caught a 30.25", 9.38lb post-spawn female off the wall at Port Austin on a blue/chrome Mauler on June 4 2003.

About 17 years ago, casting from the wall at Beacon Cove. November. In a half-hour I caught an 8-lb, an 11-lb, and a 13-lb, the last one came in like a piece of wood, no fight at all. No bites before or after. I must have caught the shift change. Like a dumb***** I filleted them all. Never did that again. Big ones taste yucky.
Picture in my wallet.

:D Just over 12 lbs. 34 1/2" long.
Wippin the Middle Channel. That night we (2 of us)
limited out and had 4 over 9 lbs. We threw back a
couple that were 16"-17" because they looked so
small next to the logs we had in the cooler. That
was a great night of fishing.

9.75lbs, Early in November a few years ago casting jointed #15 Long A Bombers at night on Lake Erie near Sterling State Park. MY bil and I caught 4 that night. Mine was the largest, the smallest being 6lbs.
There were 2 guys fishing about 100 feet down the shore from us that night. They both caught fish over 12lbs. One went 12.3 the other 12.4. I know because they borrowed my digital scale to weigh them.
