I am sure that I probably have a copy of the Sears & Roebuck Trapping Guide tucked in among my old trapping literature and books. I started trapping in 1956 at age 12 and saved everything about trapping I could get my hands on.
I agree that little booklet sure did kindle my desire to be out on the trapline. If I am not mistaken I remember that there was the photo of a seasoned trapper in hip boots holding up a muskrat still in the foothold trap with a young trapper looking on from the side on the cover.
It was a quality little publication, at less in my 12 year old eyes.
I even sold my fur (all five muskrats and one mink) to Sears & Roebuck that first year.
