How early would be too early to start summarizing your travel trailer??
With the above normal temperatures we have had this winter and spring just around the corner I’m anxious to pull the camper from storage and get started prepping her for the upcoming season. I’m reluctant to do so this early but with the mid-day temps above freezing so many day’s in a row I was thinking that I shouldn’t have much to worry about as fare as freezing pipes and what not. Whatcha guy’s think?? Is it still just too early??

Yea I'm gettin the itch too. But it doesn't take long to de-winterize. I'll start cleaning it up and other things soon however the antifreeze will stay in the lines another month or so. Better safe than sorry.

I'm with Happy Jack. Do the other things as you get the itch, but save the anti freeze for last. It's definately not worth gambling. I probably won't remove mine until May. I'm not using it until June, anyway.

I'm also with happyjack,if your not planning on useing it right away let stay in there. It only takes a few minutes flush it out. I think the earliest I've flushed mine was mid April, only because I took it out for a weekend. Usually the the first weekend in May. I go with a group of friends on a golf outing, thats when mine gets flushed, and opened up for the first time.
But I'm right there with you about getting the itch.

That's kinda what I thought too and with the weekend forecast in the upper 50's I'm gonna pull her home this weekend and get a few things done early. I'll leave the water system alone for another 4-6 weeks. It's just with no ice on the big pond and NO.... boat this year I'm smack dab in the middle of recreation season's and it's getting harder and harder to find things to putz with.

If this weather keeps warming the way it’s been I’m gonna have-ta make an early voyage around mid April just to scratch the itch. :D :D :D

I've been going ice fishing and that's about to come to sudden stop, with this warm weather. So I know exactly how you feel.Caught in that grey area between the seasons. Check the listings on
www.michigan.gov/dnr (http://www.michigan.gov/dnr) there are some parks open for year round use. Its very peaceful at this time of year. It's good way to see if the furnance is working. and you don't have to buy alot of ice to keep your "pops" cold.take easy,Diesel-Guy

I brought the pop-up home last night , opened it up this morning. I found out the hard way why it needs to be covered for the winter, it,s wet in a few spots and has a liitle mold (newbe mistake). Might still sleep in it tonight, just for the fun of it. I agree with the other posts, Don't dewinterize it yet, still will be some cold nights in our forcast.

RGROSE - Thats not to bad of a mistake compared to the one I saw last weekend. A pop-up on the side of I69 E of Lapeer, top was up 2 ft twisted about 45 deg, canvas hanging out with poles and slides bent in every direction. Now that must have been a sight to see in your mirror !

That would totally SUCK!!!! Must not have clamped the top back down before hitting the road.

I opted out of bringing her home this past weekend. Took a ride to storage and opened her up for about an hour. She looked like she weathered winter pretty good. Dirty though, gonna need a good bath and wax job again this year. Any suggestions on what type of wax is the best to use??

I bought a brand that all I can recall of the name is that "eagle" was in it. It's the type of wax that you spray on when the unit is still wet, then towel dry. I must say that was really impressed. It goes on easy & lasts a long time.
I used it last fall before I put the trailer away for winter & it worked so well that I plan on using it again when I get it out.
