When do you fish brookies with crawlers?

:fish: I'm a downstater who knows very little about when to fish the larger brookie streams. Down here it just about has to be after a significant rain has muddied up the water and washed in worms, etc.

How do you do it up north? Like in the northeast corner of the state.

i can catch them all summer long on crawlers and spring and fall. anytime you have a chance of catching one. at dusk is my fav time
