New Archery Products [NAP] Spitfire is a good 3 blade mechanical head. I have had excellent results with it. Got your message, check your e-mail at 3:00 PM today. Should be something there from me. Let me know if you got the pics. don

These have a good reputation for outstanding flight characteristics and huge wound channels.

These both have a large cutting diameter, especially the 1st one. It depends on your equipment wether or not you will get good penetration with them. You can do a thread search on this forum for any older thread discussions on broadhead opinions. I would suggest you do I will bet you will find more opinions than you know what to do with. Montec g5 for me.

SPITFIRE

I have been using spitfires for several years now, i harvested 15 deer now with them and lost none!! my set up is 60# with 3 blade spitfire I love em they shoot same as feild tips, can u guess where i got my name from. All of my shots have been from 10 to 25 yards i dont shoot past that because i dont practice enough to feel that i can make a clean kill, so with saying that its all about shot placement. If you make a well placed shot with these broadheads all you have to do is follow the trail of carnage to your trophy.

Those things look like they would be great for turkey hunting. Ruin alot of meat though.

NO- why not go with a PROVEN design cut on contact head? The pic of Magnus Stingers is a good example. There are tons of good 2 blade & 3 blade designs that will shoot well out of any bow and will put any animal down with a well placed arrow. There are a lot of choices for weight also.
All it takes is a little tuning and a broadhead should fly well out of any bow. They can be re-sharpened also ( sharpening a broadhead is no great mystery-it takes a bit of practice and anyone should be able to do it)

That first one looks like a great head to me.... for turkeys. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for turkey but would definately stay away from it for deer.

Why are you so set on the mechanicals? Any good fixed blade will do the job. Like others have stated the larger cutting dia. will only hampper the penetration. If it is because of the arrow planing it could be because of improper tuning or a high rate of speed being produced. Montec G-5 fly well for me at around 300 fps. and pass through for two good holes for blood trailing.

I like the spitfires. good blood trail and complete passthru on every shot i have taken at a deer thus far (9).
