Rabbits win

Well my little beagle and I went out yesterday and spent 4 hours chasing Rabbits and (Deer :mad: ) and even a huge ground hog. Could of taken a couple of bunnies on a fence line but I declined to let her get some chasing done. The rabbits (2) of them just vanished on her. On another chase I saw the rabbit about 60 yards away and the beagle doing her job back about 30 yards. Cirlced around and no bunnie? It was a CRP field so the rabbit might of just snuck on pass me. Anyway she got plenty of excersize and so did I (We both could stand to lose some weight):eek: . Even though we came home empty handed it was still fun.

Hopefully we get out one more time before the end of the season. Yesterday was the best day as far as finding some bunnies. The properties I hunt just don't seem to hold many. It's been a fun and frustrating year for the 3 yr old named Patty and the old man as well. There's always next time.:)

Taking the girlfriend out this afternoon to chase ole bugs around she says she is going to win but i dont think so the weather here is just a little dry to get good runs i think but we find out later today.

She ws wrong like i said,shot 2 ran 10 had 1 dog cross a road and run for 2 hours by herself while we sat with 4 other dogs in the plantation we was hunting.Ole Barley did not seem to run by herself though she looked at me funy when i went and picked her up from other plantation.Getting snow today so go back tomarrow and give it another try.

Sounds like a great day. I've been trying to find some tree farms around here to hunt with mine. Sounds like you have a mess of rabbits where you hunt.

We got out yesterday to run the dogs and had a pretty productive day. Weather was great, sunny and good scenting conditions. Dogs treed a squirrell, daytime coon in a den tree, and ran a few rabbits and we all got alot of exercise. We did not bring any guns as I don't want to clean any rabbits but we enjoyed our day.

I also managed to get out for a couple hours after waisting time with my two slow poke brother-inlaws. Managed to get one for the day out of three chases. Weather was cold in the am, but later on things warmed up good and the scenting looked to improve.
