Am looking to make my next big investment, or atleast to me it's big. Most of the Rain Jackets are close to 200 dolllars. Just checking the catalogs so far. Simms of course is a big name, and I assume high quality, but also has a high price.

Thinking I want something versatile that I can use spring thrugh Summer and on mild winter days.

Was reading a thread in the past that talked about the need for a good rain jacket when fishing Alaska...........am planning that July/07, but am thinking a good jacket would be just as useful around here.

Just looking to see what is being used and what you would get if you were going to purchase one today.

Thanks:)

2Paws, I believe we have several 2005 Simms rain jackets on close out. (I'm at home right now). I'm not sure on size, but they're marked down quite a bit. They were $200-300. Call today and talk to Jay or I'll be there Sunday.

BTW, we also have more new Simms in and more reasonable Hodgman coming in in a week or so.

Go to BBT or some other user friendly establishment and look for two words GORE TEX. A few bucks extra and you'll get a jacket that will last. Dave
