I am a feather man. I figure birds can fly straight.

If you like all the maintenance feathers. I shoot vanes. How do you like that wisker biscuit?

i thought about going to a drop but man their is no better rest(i think) in any hunting condition and it does'nt wear out nearly as bad as i first thought. i have had to replace it once and i shoot about an hour a day year round!

I used to shoot feathers 100%. Shooting fingers, I still feel they are better than vanes. However, because I no longer shoot target, 3-D or Field Archery, I use only vanes. All it takes is a good downpour while hunting to convince one that vanes is the way to go.

I also still use 5 inch vanes but have been thinking about changing to 4 inch.

I use feathers used to use vanes. as far as wet feathers and maintence. I do not treat my feathers for wetness at all. I have soaked my feathers and then shot them with other arrows whose feathers were dry. I found absolutly no difference in accuracy out to 30yrds.

get a dropaway

why man i love my WB

Why a dropaway and not a WB? Because that is probably what he uses and though he has never shot with or used a WB he wants everyone to have and use what he uses. Simple!

vanes quiet and low up keep.feathers are loud .stand to the side down range wear its safe shot vanes than feathers.feathers sound like incoming.

Loud, schmoud! At effective killing ranges for whitetail deer, and I don't mean ridiculous 50 yd. + ranges, the loudness is a non-issue, because the arrow has already found its mark. Dead deer. Nice try.

Just wait 'til that frosty quiet morning when you spook that monster of a mature buck with your Whisker biscuit.... In my mind, it is not a question of "if", it is a question of "when" with the biscuit.
Oh! To stay in track here.... I like feathers because I shoot fingers bare-handed.

C'mon now Joe, I have never had a monster buck spook from my arrow rest, and I use the WB. I use aluminum arrows and they make no sound whatsoever when I draw. What's all the fuss about, are you another one of those guys who has never used the WB but for whatever reason, you degrade it?

I used to be a religious feather user, the I found the BLAZER, I think they're great.

Also:
I used to use a whisker biscuit, then I gave my bow to a buddy so I would have one more person to shoot with, and I bought a drop away to put on my new one. I like them both the same. The whisker biscuit was great for hunting, and I like the minimal arrow drag on the drop away. Maybe whisker biscuit should work on a new drop a way .

YOU took it back because it was inferior to YOU and YOU only, not to those of US who happen to like it. Because YOU say it is inferior does not mean it is inferior to US who happen to like it. Get it?

I shoot a WB and wouldn't change. It is a great all around rest, expecially if you use your bow for more than hunting deer. But to stay on topic, I use Blazer Vains. I haven't had to replace any vains unless I shoot them off. MathewsPimp if it were me I would stick with vains and your WB. It gets the job done for you.

You know, to each his own. It's whatever you like and whatever works the best for you. My brother in law has a WB and I just got the QAD Ultra rest. I love it. It is like the WB and fall away all in one. I like the WB too. It was a tough decision between the two. I also shoot vanes.

Actually I am not one of those guys who have never used a WB and degrade it. Awhile back I had a girlfriend who I helped get into archery. We set her up with the WB. It simply was just not quiet enough for my liking. If you do a search on these threads MANY have asked how to quiet them down. I have been hunting for decades and years ago thought I had a popuar rest so quiet that I would never spook a deer. WRONG! If your rest makes any noise at all you will one day spook a deer..... period! I have never yet seen a WB that could be drawn in COMPLETE silence.
In any case, the woman I am talking about used carbon arrows with vanes.
