Harsen's Island Saturday

Hey Swamprat. In enjoyed meeting you and THE KID Saturday on Harsen's at the Marina on eastside of the island. I ended up with 10 keepers but I had mostly dinks all day long. I had the Vex on and it showed the bottom was pretty well covered with fish all day long. They would hang around until a big target would show up which I assumed was a pike and as soon as it disappeared, they started up again. The wind really made things difficult sitting out on the ice. I may go back this weekend.

I fell in on the way out. I stepped off the board between the ice and the shore on to what looked like dry land but it was about 3 ft. of water under a layer of dead marsh grass. Guess that was what the board was for.

hey, perchguy...it was also nice meeting you out there...i always enjoy putting a face to user names on this site...we didn't have much luck untill we moved down farther in the marina...water was clear and we could see bottom easily...kept 10 fish, most caught on minnows, alll in all it was a good day...i was also a little leary about that board in the water, so i kind of made a "leap" across it without getting wet...good luck the rest of the season---thekid:gaga:

perchguy it was nice meeting you also...sportnut44 was out there too,but he was still drunk from friday night...he said he seen alot of fish in his hole but i think it may have been double vision or more :dizzy: :lol: i'll be back out on saturday...may see ya out there...good luck.

PERCHGUY sorry i was a little distracted when you came over to my shanty.
i didnt realize it was you, i had a walleye 20-24" in my hole staring at my wiggler the hole time you were talking to me. he never did bite.
if had realized who you were i would have definatly told you. i didn't want to flip up my shanty and scare the fish away.
swamprat was right in his assesment of my condition, i was still a little drunk from staying out all night, it was hard enough to do one thing let alone two. hope to meet you again when i'm not so distracted.

i used the kid :gaga: as my designated driver, but i wasnt going to let a hangover ruin a great day of fishing.

I was really nice meeting you guys out there last Saturday. I may try it again next Saturday but I am going to bring my own board. My son is a caprpenter and I will see if he can get me some scrap lumber.
