Come back to reality... It's over. I just read all these threads about any ice here? any ice there? any ice anywhere? The day after tomorrow is March 1st.

There is no ice out in the cove.There is no ice, I drove and drove. There is no ice out on the bay. There is no ice, even at Del Ray. There is no ice out on Saint Clair. There is no ice, ANYWHERE! The only ice is in my cup. So take your buckets, and hang them up. :lol:

That's funny,I was tearing up some slab Crappies yesterday on a good 8 inches of ice on a private lake near Imaly City.I don't think I am done yet:D As long as we don't get any rain this week it should be good for maybe 1 -2 weeks.I also caught some really nice Largemouth Bass which I immediately released.One went about 4 Lbs. and I had another big one on that broke my line(kind of hard to get them big ones in with a ice rod with no drag system)

If you saw the size of the Crappie I'm getting up at houghton L....you wouldn't be saying that Fish eater:evil: :SHOCKED: Leaving this Friday for 10 days up there with a buddy...slaying the crappies and eyes!!;) ..........then when we get back around the 15th......time to hit the river!!:D..........Oh yea.....18-20 inches of solid ice up there.....And it's only 2 1/2hrs. away....get off your butts and take a road trip!! LOL

i hate to disagree with you, but i found ice on canals on lake st. clair on sunday...got out at 8:45 a.m. and stayed untill 1:30...i caught 225 fish in that time period...a alot of them were small, but i managed 12 keepers of 8-9 inches...now i know that seems like not much, but there was ice and it could have been a great meal...i would have stayed later but i ran out of minnows because lakeside fishing shop gave me a terrible count...the pearch hit minnows and jigging raps with red jensen eggs...it is near the end of the ice season, but like everyonme else says, if you travel and have the desire to fish, you can find ice and fish---the kid

Well, I've seen the size of your Perch so I'm not sure if you mean that your getting big cals or little ones.:whistle: :lol: That just ain't me at this point. The winter was so lame, that my itch is long gone. To few a trips this year to keep me fired up. Bring on the Spring. You can keep your Cals up there in that cold. Around 25-28 days from now I'll be harvesting my own cals. On nice warm sunny days, tee-shirt. Lots of em, throwing back all those over 12". Oh, and my drive will only be about 15-20 minutes. Less gas=lower price per pound.:cheeky-sm :lol: Anyway, good luck up there on the Walleyes Kevin. Tight lines to ya and bring us back some good pics! Those were some nice crappies Kevin caught last weekend. Nicest I've seen in a long time. They all looked to be about 11 3/4" Fish Eater.

My neighbor went yesterday morning and again in the afternoon. He said there was over an 1" of new ice the second trip. Also had a bucket of phat jumbos.

My buddy got a 14 incher out of there lastnight right before dark.He is lucky enough to be able to hit it on his way home from work for a few hours.He ended up with 8 total with the smallest being 10 1/2".I can't tell ya the name of the lake but it is a Private lake.

My crappie hole was a big goose egg this evening...They have seemed to relocate and I will have to take Sunday PM to try to do it...BTW, ice thickness was 9-10"...

caught these friday morning, fished from 7:30-11:00 using minnows...i threw back about 20-25 7" perch, these were the best of the bunch...at least they were all over 7 3/4"...this winter has been kinda sad, but at least i found some ice and fish...went to work just in time for lunch, which was fresh perch, how ironic?!? this was probabaly my last trip of the season----the kid:gaga:

joker51, the edges of the canal are ok right now...there was about 4 inches of ice in some areas, and open water in others...swamprat1954 might be going to harsens tomorrow...i was not there this morning...i was in a local canal...the perch seem to be hammering minnows right now...trying to fatten up for the spawn, maybe?!---thekid:gaga:

O.K. Joeker it's OVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the fish have left the marinas on the island I spent all day tues. lookin for them with only 2 in the pot. Went to veneation cut with my son Jay Bird and lit them up had fish smokin the bait all day some nice perch and gills. "When the lilacs are bloomin the walleyes are Zoomin"
