Found Traps

Hello all,

I wanted to alert all of you trapper types to some lost traps that I found on Thursday 02/24/06. I was driving on US 223 at US 23 just north of the Ohio border. I saw a Red Chevy P/U with no tailgate turn west onto US223 from NB US23. A bunch of trapping equipment fell from the back of the truck when it turned. I attempted to stop the truck but the high volume of traffic did not allow me to. I turned around and recovered all of the equipment from the roadway and it is now in my garage.

If anyone knows a trapper in that area who might have lost a bunch of equipment please have them contact me over this site. They will need to describe in detail what they lost. If they do I will be happy to meet them someplace to return their equipment. Guessing by the equipment recovered this trapper is no amatuer, so describing the equipment should be no problem.

I did not notice any tags or ID numbers but I will take a closer look.

Maybe they came from Ohio and perhaps they don't have that requirement.

Well I took lwingwatcher's advice and studied the traps. Low and behold I did find a name on one of them. I tried every source I have available to get the phone number but I have had no success contacting the owner. I am going to put the names out in the hoope that one of you all might known this person, and I can return their traps.

you really should take the address off, i wouldnt want someone randomly posting my address on the net. the names should be enough to check if people know them. you could take them to the loacal police station as well and tell them what happened and they should be able to assist in returning them.

I would think that there is a good chance that more effort might be expended right here so I wouldn't take them to a PD except as a last resort. The internet has some amazing search capabilities.

I tried the numbers to no avail. As for going to the local PD, I AM the local PD. I tried going through the dept. who put me in touch with the local PD where the address is. NO luck...

I have tried all that I can think of. I have even prayed to be able to return these traps. I'll just sit back now and see if anything ever developes. They are safely in my garage so I'm in no hurry.

Wild Bill, I was going to delete the phone number and addy out of my post, so it wasn't on record but the time has expired, to be able to do that. Maybe you should now, as Fog has tried the information.
