THE LAKE FENTON OUTING (done and over with)

For all of you that didnt make it out there....

Well, when i got there i put my home made ice anchor in and attached it to the shanty, got the shanty up.Spent a lot of my time keeping it from taking flight even with ittied down...Well i was kinda getting mad do to the wind and i havnt seen or met anyone yet, so i went to pout in my shanty..I'm sitting there and then the top pole come's off and hits me in the head :sad: . So in an act of rage i took it down..

Well a little later i started to meet people...Most got into the tournys..Everyone just went and set out..I think it was eric who let me borrow his fish trap (that thing is sweet)..Didnt get to use it much or fish much, i had just as much fun walking around and talking to everyone. Really nice bunch of guys..

I was able to fish a littler towards the end...i even placed in 3rd in the "other" toury with a perch.(a sad one)..No one won the pike tourny (no pike were caught over 24") and one guy caught a gill but threw it back..lol bad idea he could have one the gill tourny...I kinda felt bad that not many fish were caught...But i guess everyone had a good time..

The "other" tourny was won by Critter Trapper with a bullhead he won $30...Then second went to a perch 7 1/8" $20 and then my dink for 3rd $10...Kinda sad i know..

The guy that came out to fish with me (non-member) he slayed the perch, he even caught a really fat jumbo, he would have placed if he would have joined the tournys..

The thing that had to be the funniest thing had to be when GMslave tried to open a beer, the tap broke off so my freind (same who caught the jumbo) said he would open it, so he took his pliers and puched down..Basically he pressed down it opened and he ended up with beer all over his face..

was a really good time glad that some people came ( you all missed out on a good time)...I didnt take a ny pics, my camera sucks...

Man that was some of the hardest fishing I've seen in a while. Got there at 10am. Almost lost my shanty first thing. Lucky for me I had my jpollman ice anchor specials! Sat in the same spot not catching fish BY MYSELF til about 1:30, when one of my shaty poles started to give way. Lucky for my Fractureman got there and gave a call out for sportsman on the ice. When I told him I was ready to pack it up before the shanty did it for me he offered to let me fish with him. Best move I made all day!!! This guy had a brand new 4 man Shapell to break in, 10" power auger, vex, charcol grill, food, tv, radio. I think the kitchen sink was loaded on there somewhere!:lol: We didn't catch but 2 pike and a small perch. I think that perch got him second in one of the turneys. I had a great time and fished in comfort!

Fractureman: We'll have to do it again sometime. Thanks for all the hospitality! You saved my day, I was headed home otherwise.

I'm still wondered how those guys did that said they were pulling up anchor and trolling with jerk baits?!

well we had a good time out there met a few good new buddys ,man the wind was nasty :yikes: we got 4 pike none over 24 :mad: , wished weather would have been better we stayed in one spot,thank god for ice cleats:) .i dont know how to post any pic .only have 2 it was just to windy. the first pike took my rod and had to reach in the water to save it ,we stayed in the ice cube witch was holding on for dear life to the snowmobile and ice stakes:lol: thanks shane for haveing this, you did a great job for the weather being so bad i would do it again in a heartbeat. maybe one more outing this year in this area someone can set up well i must apply more chapstick ,and more skin cream:D bob

Pressed down ? He pile-drived that puppy! Still, lotsa funny right there. I'm glad his wife was picking him up, otherwise he would've had some explaining to do if he got pulled over. :lol:

We had a good time Deputy, it was a good idea. The weather was a bit rough but all in all we had a good time. My son had good time sliding around on the ice, we had a few hotdogs cooked on the buddy heater, and some hot chocolate in the thermos. It doesn't get much better than that, regardless of how many fish were caught.

i'm very proud that a 16 yo kid was able to do such an amazing job setting up this outing. just like hank said it dosen't matter about how many fish we caught, just that we were around good people and good ice!! i've gotta let everybody in on a little joke i played saturday, i was guilty of calling in a 39" pike on the radio! the fishing was bad and i got bored(and a little drunk:dizzy: )so i figured i'd get everyone excited thinking that the fish were on the bite!!:lol: if you took offense to that.... tough! i thought it was funny. but i do appoligize for my twisted humor. anyway, nice job deputy!:chillin:

No 39" pike! I'm bummin'! I kept thinkin if somebody caught one that big then I had a chance at catching a REAL fish! So does that mean nobody caught 12oz fish either?:dizzy:

Hey guy's I would like to start off with Big Up's for Deputy:bowdown: "Brother" you did a great job on putting together this outting!!!!:fish2: I would also like to say' Trout you can share my shanty any time!!!!;) No really all jokeing aside you were a great fishing partner. It's great meeting new people with like interests it seems to lead to great freindships !!! I want to thank you for the storys and the company, as slow as the fishing was and the wind wanting to blow us away,were those high point while we were putting fish on the ice, made it a memorable day!!! Hay Trout I think we should patition the judges for those pike we cought, I think we should win by defult sence no one else cought one !!! ;) Let me know what you think. Also nothing like barbaqueing brats on the grill on the hard water!! YUM!!!!! Lets plan another outing before the hard water dissapers!!!:woohoo1: Thanks to all for a great time!!!

Just to let you know a little trick with the camera, (If your running Windows XP or higher), Microsoft has a nice free built in image resizer (along with quite a few other nice tools) availible on their website.

The tools are on the right side, named IMAGE RESIZER. Just in case.

LMAO BigBob that was you in the Ice Cube tent next to us. I fogot my GPS/Radio so I couldn't call anyone. I just want to say thank you for the entertaiment. Watching you guys set that thing up in the wind was WAY better then fishing besides we weren't catching anything anyways. A few times we thought you would be on your sled chasing it across the lake.

I was there But we didn't meet sorry didn't see an orange banner thought everyone that was in the outing left. We ended up getting there early so I was on the other side of the lake with no radio. With the wind blowing the way it was we didn't think it was worth packing everything up to go to the boat launch someone we talked to said the outing was off and everyone left because of wind.

Sounds good I will stop in next time I see ya. I'm not sure where I'm going this weekend yet.. I had pretty good luck on Sunday out at White lake but there is a drag strip out there. So there is way too much sled traffic for me. By the way i'm Jim nice to meet you. Later
