hit the canel a shade past the sryc where the group was fishing. was all alone at that spot. started to catch perch soon as i got the bait down. again a lot af little ones with the ocassional 8''. finished at 1 with 21 in the bucket. i'm sure when i clean them i'll wonder why in the hell i got some of these in there. ( they seem bigger on the ice). talked to some guys and the story was the same, all small ones. drove around a bit, saw only a few guys in other canels who were'nt doing anything either. seems like it might be nearing the end on the island. the ice is still good except around the shore line. went down to the ankle but had boots so did'nt get hot foot. please be carefull, soft water soon. good luck to all.
