Just pulled this off the DNR site. Thought it might be useful to some of you guys & gals.
The new 2006 fishing licenses will go on sale starting March 1, 2006. Anglers will have one month to purchase their new license before the April 1st deadline. The 2006-2007 Michigan Fishing Guides and Inland Trout and Salmon Guides will also be available. Anglers are being asked to keep both guides for use over the next two fishing seasons, as the next printing will not take place until 2008.

Yes, they don't sell them anymore, but WRONG they did not take them back from the guys who bought them. They will always be valid. They even send out new deer kill tags every year.

That clears it up, I guess it's been a while since I've needed to worry about that. Gives me a reason to head to Gander in a week or so.

Thats pretty freakin wild , Cuz I still get mine !! :evilsmile I think at the rate we're going ,the DNR should think about reintroducing this program. Instant moolah in their pockets couldn't be a bad thing. I'd be more than happy to by my son a lifetime license for his birthday..Mark

I picked up a copy of the new book today, it begs you on the front and back to hold onto it for 2 yrs to save costs. It also seems thinner, money must be running real tight.

Picked mine up at the OutDoorama last week. Your comment "seems thinner, money must be running real tight" got me curious. Do you think that we should have them come up with more rules and regulations to make the booklet thicker? :D :D
So, I got the current one and the new one from the truck--dang, it is chilly out there-- and they both are 24 pages. The paper is the same size. Pretty much the same but I will have to check out all the major changes.
