Been wondering about this one.
How do you position your feet?
Perpendicular to the target?
A slightly open stance?
A real open stance (say ...45 degrees..)
Reason I ask is, as your stance becomes MORE perpendicular to the target, your draw length increases. Right!?
Ok, now what is the proper form technique? Or is it what ever works the best ;) ;) ?
thanks,
Kev

Start with your hips and shoulders running perpendicular to the target. Take your front foot and back it up one inch, then swing it out one inch. \|, basically that's what they should looke like with the target to the left.
45deg, that's way to hopen, you want your motion to be at the target with the bow arm and away from the target with the release arm. I don't know a single coach who coaches to have that open of a stance, it's assanine. Larry Strickland, Terry Wunderlee all coach what I've stated.
Also, keep your feet at shoulder width, you want a solid base to stay balanced.

Sorry, that 45 was just a number I pulled off the top of head. Didn't mean to sound crazy:)

Arm slap. You want to stand just slightly open for clearance. It allows you to load more of the draw weight on your shoudler AND back instead of just the elbow.

I agree with Docs tip.

The idea is that when you follow through. Pushing and pulling at the same time your bow hand will go towards the target and your release hand will go back. easier to do when propper stance is present.

very slightly open. right heel inline with left arch of foot. Shoot great this way and it actually helps ease some of my draw shoulder pain with the range of motion that the open stance give me on my shoulder ( sounds dumb but works)

i have been practicing this for the past week and it has helped me a lot. Also, no more arm slap.
Thanks again!
