Pontiac Lake info

Does anyone have any recent first hand knowledge on Pontiac Lake? I'm thinking of making the trip there tomorrow just to get outdoors, and try out my new Vex.
I called a local bait store but they wouldn't give me an ice report, and didn't have a fishing report.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They will give you a honest report

I fish and live on a lake very near there. Ice is about 8'' think. Plenty of ice, not sure about the fishing. However, a lot of people do fish it!!

Do you really think you get an honest report from K.D.'s? I've been going to that shop for the better part of twenty years and the owner does not even know my name or even care if he does.

Try to strike up a conversation with Dave and he blows you off like you are taking up his time. If Drayton Livery or the other shop on lower Silver Lake had more regular hours for bait, they would get all my business.

I own and run my own business and believe me I personally know my regular customers!!!

Fishing has been fair. Ice 6+ most places.Bring a spud to be safe,but you should be alright.
I think Walleye Mike has been out there recently..maybe he'll have more recent info.

I plan on going Wedn. and Friday. last wedn. ice was 6-7".

Just got back. I would say the ice is 6" max where we were. My boy got a Crappie (8") and I lost a walleye. First time on the ice so it was great that he got something.
