Heading up to Edenville this weekend and just wondering if theres fishable ice on any of these waters if so any reports on ice conditions? If so hows the fishing? I usually fish wixom in the summer time and have done fairly well on panfish, bass, and pike but never on ice. On the way home wouldnt mind taking some time and do alittle ice fishing before I come home. Possably any bait shops I could contact? All in all THANKS in advance.:) - kp

Hello KP,

I just got back from there Sunday, we fished Saturday (all day) and Sunday. We fished right our side the state boat launch. The ice we 8 inches thick and very strong. there was a truck out there late Saturday.
The fishing sucked to be honest. 1 perch and maybe a couple nibbles out of the 4 of us, all the others that we out there we also saying it was slow or no go. We used plastic jigs and maggots. Maybe should have tried minnows.
That could be the key, not sure.

There is a bait shop right there at the m-30 bridge next to the marina, its wixom lake bait & tackle 989-689-5038. the web page is http://wlbt.biz/ .

I hope this helps......
If you go tell me how it went..
