Worked the marina's......

Starting at Sun-up, Captains Cove, Bouvier Bridge, Sand Bar, story was the same everywhere, pea soup and either dinks or nothing at all. Checked Sassy's, Colony and a few other spots where the ice wasn't thick enough for me to go on. Settled in on Harsens with fasteight, and Joeker51. I got a limit of mostly average(8-9") crappies and some nice gills. Pretty sure they both did well too but that's their story. Water was much clearer, still couldn't see bottom in 7 FOW.

Got a suprise when leaving.......we had to wait 3+ hours for the ice in the river to set up and the ferry to run. First time in 20 years that has happened to me.

Been kinda quite in the forum, though a report might help some of you decide where to go. Best of luck to all. Next couple of days should open the door to alot of places we haven't go to yet this winter.

Have made the "unofficial" decision that LSC was done for me...A good crappie hole 10 minutes away might have something to do with that;)

Hey Shane... you lurking this threat yet??? been a long time since I've seen you... You didn't call IFN b4 you headed to the island? I figured he'd of gone for sure!

Do you guys know if anyone was fishing the 'moot??? I've had an itchin' to give it a go but haven't heard any reports from that area.

I fished Sunday for an hour at the harbor club. The ice is real shaky and one guy fell thru just b4 my arrival. Guys said he got out faster then he fell thru! Only managed about a dozen caught, all small, and all put back to grow.

Let me know if you all plan on hittin the island again this coming weekend. I've got a few buddies that might want to head out that way.

i didnt even know we was goin to the island.. we started over by captain cove and a couple other canals over there and the water was mud, a couple places we couldnt even get on.. we tried a couple other movin around the lake and just ended up on the island... seen Jim(treeman) when we first got out there but i dragged all my crap out and went back to try to talk to him he was already gone...

ug, then there was the actually fishin.. i actually came home with 23(miscounted, must of been the cold) Joe, you should know when ya go with Harry your gonna be late, heck, Yolanda finds out i goin fishin with harry and her last comment when i walk out the door is "see ya tomorrow"... but yes, i will learn the fiscious way of settin the hook, its a technique, cant seem to master that one yet so my hands go swimmin alot...lol but dang, i did loose some NICE fish in the hole... was fun bein out on the ice and as usually, in good company.. gimme a yell when ya get out again Joe, i goin sometime this week, just dont know the day yet...

If I knew it was you I would have stayed and chatted. Came off with a limit of jumbo gills and crappies. Fished about 3 hours and threw back some. Also had a few 7 to 8 inch perch.

Mike told me you were fishing my canal... I saw all of you out there but didn't know it was you. I would have came out to join you but I already knew there would be nothing but dinks in there. When the water level was higher back in 95 the canal was stacked with nice fish but not anymore. Mike called me last night and he hit big-time on the island. Planning on getting out there this weekend if your interested.

How much ice was there? Were you fishing the Muscamoot or the canals? Any information will be appreciated.

A friend of mine went back yesterday, only got a few small ones to show for it. Ice was 3-4" in the canals, didn't get a look at the bay(sunday). If the lake is still muddy, try the canals off the SCR, water was much clearer.

Thanks for the report fellas. A friend and I had to spend the nite there one time cuz of the ice with to jammed to pass tru. P.S. Jason is out of the hospital and back home so I going to get a fix one day soon.
