What's a good price on a new Vex FL-8 Genz Pack???
I thought they went for about $269.00 just about all the time, is that about right?

You got a good deal I would say. I priced them earlier this winter and they were all around 299.99 sounds like you got a good deal

I've always seen the genz pack at $269.99 or $279.99, you might be able to find them cheaper somewhere with all the ice fishing sales these days.

I haven't bought it yet, but Cabelas has them priced at $279.99, and I'm pretty sure that's a regular price. I was hoping to catch one of these on an end of season clearance sale, and I might have a lead on one. I just wasn't sure what would be a good price.

The Cabela's Marcum VXR flasher is on sale for $250 right now and I think it is probably even better than the FL-8, because the VXR comes with the bottome 5 ft zoom mode which is a GREAT feature. For the money I would definitely look into it...

If you're looking for a vex check out your local Gander Mountain. I heard they were running a sale on them, but then again it's just hear-say. I don't know for sure.

Well I did it, I ended up buying a Vexilar FL-8SE Genz Pack at Meijer for an IMPOSSIBLE to pass up $167.99!!! It was marked down, but not 40% like the rest of the stuff. I ended up getting 40% off the original price and somehow they didn't charge tax :D
I also saw a Shappelle 3000 (I think??), new in the box for $155.99, on clearance. If I had the $$$$$ I would buy that too, my old Polaris I got years ago has seen better days, not to mention a misplaced heater or two:lol:
Thanks for all the input on the Vex, now I need to find time to take a trip and try it out.
Any tips????

I want to try it.....bad.
I'm trying to plan a snowmobile/fishing trip.....if not, just a fishing trip.
We'll see if I can get my buddies to ditch the kids and wives for a weekend.

They also had a FL 18 pro pack, mis-marked at 299.00, it was there for months, not sure about now though.
