Reminder Higgins Lake Winterfest

If you were at Higgins Lake icefishing this past Saturday you more than likely froze particular parts of your body off! :lol:

I was there and met Laketrout1, he was the "Chairman" for this years Winterfest icefishing contest and let me tell you he did a bang up job! The weather was very, very, very cold which I'm sure had some effect on the turn out but it seemed as though there were plenty of people there.

Sorry I missed the awards, had to go freeze some more over on Houghton Lake that afternoon. Looking forward to doing it again next year!

BTW - LT1; Put a fire barrel and more schnapps on the "ideas for next year" list! ;)

What awards were given? When I was there Satuday afternoon the only fish on the board were two small perch.

You must have been there after 2pm it was close to full before that. 35 1/2 laketrout was taken And a 24 1/2 Rainbow as well as a dozen other laketrout. There was also a 13 1/2 in perch. And yes Berksee I did freeze my #@* off. Everything went extremely well at the awards presentation, Thanks for showing up at the board.

What awards were given? When I was there Satuday afternoon the only fish on the board were two small perch.The "check in" ended at 2pm, Awards were handed out out at "Trappers" at 3:30 pm. I stayed around til the end of the check in, didnt go for the awards though. but I should have! I went back to Houghton Lake to freeze the rest of my """ off to catch hammer handles! :yikes: :lol:

Son got 2nd place in the youth with a 9.75 incher, and we won the pike division with a 28.5 inch on a perch rig! Laker and whitefish were slow for us, whitefish for me has been dismal for me this year. Holy cold!!!!

I had a nature call to answer, when I got back your pike was hangin and you'd been there and left. BTW - I didnt think anyone else even brought a pike up to be measured! :lol:
