Hows The Trapping Going?

With the trapping season nearing an end, I'd like to know how you guys are doing. Regretably I didn't get out as much as I would have like to, but I did catch some nice Mink, and Muskrat. There seem to be plenty of them out there, and I am having a really great time. Setting a 110 conibear along the rivers edge has worked best for me this year, and with the warm weather the rivers edge is a great place to be. Any of you have any luck with Otter this year? I haven't seen a sign of one. Hopeing to hear from you Michigan trappers. Trapper Rick

The only thing I had luck with this year is snappers. We managed to get some hogs this year.

I've had a good season! My mink numbers started out like I knew what I was doing, but then had a 5 week lul until this latest warm up. Was happy to find 2 more fuzzy tails waiting for me on this weeks checks. Rats seemed to be in good supply this year also! As far as the otters go, I don't really go after them. I figure
that I stand a good chance at one in a beaver set here in the next couple months, so I hold the tag for then. I'll agree that I have not seen much sign, if any in the past month and a half. Seems like the coon were down in my parts also, but I didn't really start on them until mid Nov., and they may have been thinned by the hound guys and other trappers. Seems like the small increase in coon demand pulled some extra fellers out in the woods. Keep after em!:)
