I would like some opinions on the Pro's and Con's of string loops. I'm thinking of adding one when I change my string.

Thanks,
Ben

Pro:
Wear on the loop, not on your bow string.
Should help reduce the pinch on the arrow.
Con:
I've heard of loops breaking during the draw, but I've never had it happen.

get a loop.
Never had one come off, or break. I'm sure there are horror stories out there though...

I had a loop come untied once...my fault and I punched myself in the face when it let loose at the peak of the draw weight...ouch! I still use one though and am very happy with it. It will shorten your draw length...you'll loose some velocity, but the accuracy benefits (for me anyway) outweigh the minor loss in speed.

Really can't think of any cons to a dloop. Too many pros to list.

I'm gonna toss one on.

Thanks,

I use one, but I did have one break. Never did find that arrow, my forearm sure slowed the string down though, it occured on the draw back.

Pro's outweigh this bad experience though and still use one.

For all you guy's that had a d-loop break that sux
but I always look over my bow before I shoot to make sure that everything looks ok, string, sights, cables & d-loop. Just keep your eyes on the parts that wear.

For hunting you can draw and let the arrow down without it falling off the string which can be a problem on shot axle to axle bows theyre also way easier on the serving

my first attempt to tie one on wasn't very successful, I pulled the bow back with it once, then it got pretty loose, and came off. But my serving is all Jacked up, and knock point is sliding up and down a 1/4" each way. So I gave up until I get the bow restrung.
