Man...Todd shot the shoot of his life. Kudos bro...First arrow of the last end I got weak with the shot and it went left of the 'x', pinwheeled the last 4 and was able to sneek out 8inside outs, but Todd beat me by that single 'x'.

Congrats to you bro.

I 've been shooting a bow of some type and bowhunting for over twenty-five years now, but I need a dictionary to figure out what the heck you guys are talking about here...:dizzy:

I feel like I am watching the snowboarding events on the Olympics with all of the foreign nomenclature being thrown around and the abbreviations in the results form the shoot...

I was able to figure out that AUI was Archery Unlimited, only because I stop in there frequently. Does that mean the other abbreviations are for other sponsored shooters and lack thereof means they showed up on there own to shoot?

I also assume that 300 is a perfect score and the only determining factor to the winner is the number of X's they score within the ten-ring?

Is this a 20-yard match? How big (dia.) is the ten-ring? Heck, I could shoot that with my hunting setup...

Congrats nonetheless to all who did well!

Mark

LMAA - Lake Michigan Archery Association
NFAA - National Field Archery Association
BP - Blendon Pines
WW - West Walker
FAI - Fremont Archers
MB - Muskegun Bowman
CHIP - Chippawa Archers
OC - Oceana Archers
IO - Inside outs

20 yards, 60 arrows, the FITA rounds are done so there's no longer a 10 ring. Just a 5 ring with a center x, 300 60 10 for a highest possible score. That's 60 arrows in the 'x' with 10 inside outs on the last two ends.

We shoot 12 ends of 5 arrows.

AUI and BP are the only shops with a club...the rest Are just archery clubs. No one is sponsored except for a few through coops and the pros that shoot. Arlyn Ritsma, James Rus, Frank Rus, and Carl Wenk are the pros that are in the LMAA.

Thanks for the explaination on the abreviations.

But I do need to correct you, there are a few sponsered shooters participating in this event besides the Pro.

But at local competitions it is more advertising for the manufactures they represent.

Thanks Bryan, that helps sort it out!

No...waste of 50.00 to shoot spots for no payback. I'll save it for Lou-Ville. I'm shooting the IBO money shoot at Adams Archery on Sunday instead. I'm on a little hot streak with the 3d in open class this winter. Hoping to continue that.

So when did you get your new string in? So are you going to shoot at Fremont? Since you have new strings you should also be able to shoot Sectionals. Are you going there as well?

Kelly Johnson

I'm gonna try to swing the IBO at Adam's on Sunday myself. I haven't shot past 20 in 4-5 months though...looking for excuses already:D Maybe I'll see ya there Bry.

Maybe I am just ignorant but if I remember correctly I thought you said that you were sponsered by mathews....or is that just a coop as well?

I'm sponsored by Mathews through the shop. I got a shooter shirt and bow, but I was referenced by the shop. I don't shoot pro class. I'm still an amateur. So for all intensive purposes, I'm on the sponsored shooting staff, not pro staff. So I won't consider myself sponsored til I start shooting pro in the next few years.

I'd like to go !!! But in my field getting out by 5:00 or 6:00 to make it to shoot by 7:00 will be very tough !!! Fridays are our worst day of the week. Every ones trying to get there stuff fixed before the weekend so they wont have to pay us overtime fee's.
