i fished from 9.30 am until noon and cault 40 perch kept 14 7"to 9"es
yah everybody is sayin there isnot any safe ice well they our right
i must be the crazy one that has the death wish well any way im fishing north of the bar for the last couple of days and didnt do to bad for the ice conditions
i weight 230lb and the ice dose creek and crack as i walk on it but it is only 24" deep where i fish and a hard sandy bootom ,and i also wear my waders
to feel a little safer ice range 1.5 to 2.5 inches.
i had a few watchers today wondering how the hell i got where i did well like i said im a little crazy tight lines all be safe not crazy/stupid like me

With chest waders on you are fine in that shallow...Hundreds go out on Saginaw Bay every Dec. in a foot of water on thin ice and have waders on. If they go thru, it might shut an small area down for a while, but they are dry.

Been on an inch in 8 FOW before. Tonight....winds are CALM, temps will be going down to the lower teens...perfect ice making weather, there may be another inch by the morning.

problem is the majority of ice that was there got blown out yesterday. i went out there, there ain't squat for ice

What we need is a portable shanty that doubles as a boat....kinda like a bathtub with a hole in the middle!! Hmmm.....maybe a collapsible shanty with outriggers like a pontoon boat????? :dizzy:

high winds today some ice has blown out getting real shakey do to the wind
found a nice school inside hpyc on the bay their was three of us out their seen one guy pole a couple of 11 inchers out it is a hard bite... you have to work for your perch this year. ended up with 15 8" to 10" out 30 fish. tight lines crazyc out

Good one Joeker.....I'd prefer to think of it as a floating shanty though. Hmm..how about a shanty with an inflatable air bladder around it like one of them coast guard boats? Since we can't find a square inner tube for the shanty I guess we would have make a round shanty to fit inside the middle of a tire tube from an earth mover.....:idea:

went out to the bay this morning most of the ice has drifted out caught about 25 dinks no hogs tried 4 other spot betwenn candles and 8 mile no fish anywhere maybe bad wind direction not the wright front who knows?????:sad: :sad: :sad: :help:
