I was around LSC today. Few spots are starting to get ice. The venetian and basins at Metro was pretty much froze over with an inch or 2, another week of this weather and it could be fishable again.
There were guys fishing at Captin's Cove... right behind the bait shop. Couldn't believe it!! Don't know how think the ice was, but I'm sure you could call the shop
Bouvier Bay had a sheet of ice over much if it, so hopefully the ice continues to build up and we're fishing behind The Raft again!
Keep your fingers crossed!

According to Ficious, Captain's Cove never lost its ice completely like many of the other canals. It always freezes to safe thickness before most of the others do. The Raft won't be far behind...

i was in fair haven today, and the bay at the dnr launch was frozen, as were all of the canals in the area. talked to one guy who was on it yesterday, and he said it was about 2" then, but not real solid (bouncy). with no wind, little snow, and these temps, it could be good saturday or sunday.
oh yeah, great board, been readin for about a month. you guys rock!

I work at a marina near the end of south river road and there is ice forming on the south side of the road and there is nothing in the river yet. Ice in the lake looked to be abouth 1 inch thick. Pretty soon we will be back out there. :) :) :)

ice is about 1 1/2" in the canals around the mile roads. CAUTION the coast guard went down the 10 mile canal and took the boat out at the ramp. broke up the ice.. be REAL carefull. should be ok next week if they don't use it again. spotty fishing with some keeper perch mixed with a lot of dinks.

Just came back from Metro. NO FISHABLE ICE unless you want to stand on the docks. Walked almost all the way along the beach to the bend. NO GOOD. Open water pool about 300-400 yards out. Kind of depressing. I doubt if we get out on the big lake around here. Campau Bay is mostly open water.
