Yeah, I'd like to know too. B#stards coming into another shops territory and undercutting the local Mathews shops by selling bows at "show special". What these vendors did at the expo is a good way to get Mathews to pull their line from them.

That's business.
The shop I frequent sells them way below every shop in the state and they haven't pulled their line. Mathews is making money no matter what, so they don't care TOO much unless there is some underground crap going on.

Yeah, but it's in the contract that they sign to get the mathews line that they aren't allowed to do it...and it's a STRICT policy.

Was the "local" Mathews shop there to sell and promote Mathews?

Nope. They shouldn't have too. They're less than a mile from the Delta Plex. The selling of bows at shows fall under the category of online selling as well as mailorder.

So...
I'm not going to be there to promote the product line, but I don't want anyone else there either?? ?? ??
How many hunting shows do you think would be attended by sportmen and women if there weren't any products there to promote, handle, look at, evaluate, etc., etc., etc...
I sure hope the big archery companies don't go the way of the big-three automotive companies. With their elitest attitudes that "only we can do what we do".
Hello Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc., etc., etc.....

They can be there to promote, but they aren't allowed to sell. The local shop, if at the show, would have been, under contract, the only retailer who would have been able to sell bows at the show.

Let's see, the "out of area" Mathews dealer...puts in the time, pays the entry into the show, answer questions and hands out the local shops (Archery Ulimited) business cards ?  .
I don't care who you are.....THAT'S FUNNY !!!
Would Mathews rather have a potential customer buy from the competition that has bows at the show for sale vs. buying a Mathews because the local guys weren't there ?
I have nothing against Frank, good guy with a ton of knowledge. I bought a Mathews from him a couple years ago.
Doc.....aweful defensive now that Mathews is paying you to shoot aren't you ? :yikes:

I don't get any money from Mathews. I'm more loyal to the shop than to the brand.

That's funny this thread was brought up because I was just at the Birch Run show on Friday. I was talking to that guy and he'd mentioned that the week earlier he was giving cases away with the purchase of a new XT. I want to say his price on the XT the prior week was $769.00. At the Birch Run show he wasn't giving cases away but his price was down to $699. Found it kind of interesting. One way or another you were paying for the case.
