How about we close all the roads on public hunting land (CFA included) from Oct. 1 to Dec. 1. The only way to get in would be to hike it. NO fourwheelers cruising up and down all day long, no road hunting, bikes, roller blades, hanggliding, nothing. Only walking. I think that would save TONS of bucks. Baiting would most likely cease to exist, except for maybe the first 100 yds or so from the highways.

Guys would think twice before dropping that little buck because he is going to have quite a drag ahead of him:) . It would eliminate drive-thru hunting; pulling the wheeler up to the pile and dropping the first deer that comes by.I have passed on some decent bucks because of where I was hunting and if I shot it I dont know if I would ever get it out so it had to be a monster. I think it could work. Maybe.

in front of two-tracks and old dirt roads to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Your absolutely right, its nice if people couldn't 4-run down the trails that you're trying to hunt. Would make people get out and exercise a little. That couldn't hurt!! :lol:

Most CFA and USFS lands in the UP already are closed to ATV use by the general public under the law (CFA - requires permission of the landowner, Ottawa NF - closed unless posted open).

It's just widely ignored and rarely enforced.
