10-10-10 or 20-00-10 on Snow

I usually pull a bag of garden fertilizer and a bag of pel lime in to my bedding area on a kids plastic sled. Should one spread the fertilizer on a above freezing day to reduce nitrogen loss? The ground is fairly level , so runoff is not a problem. The 20 -0-10 has urea as the nitrogen source. I do not have a bag of 10-10-10 on hand to check the nitrogen source.

Do you do that to sweeten up the forage/vegetation in and around the deers bedding area?

Correct, butternut. On sand with a pH of about 5 , anything helps!!
