I probably would not have guessed that. Early '05 ice fishing season nearly extended to April in SE Michigan and mid november to mid december was insanely cold.

I think this year we're trying to get a head start to break last year's record...

Actually, this recent cold snap ;) in SE MI has firmed up a private lake that I love to fish.:woohoo1: It's got a lot of natural springs so it is iffy when many other lakes are solid.

It's good for gills and towards the end of last ice season, I caught a really nice crappie close to dark which was a pleasant surprise. I've been anxious to get out there ever since but I missed first and only ice due to work. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow!:evil:

It was miserable around here last summer. But, the whole thing is scary. Imagine it getting so hot that the people in California decide they want to move to a cooler state and they choose Michigan.
