I have not seen any recent posts with Fremont Lake information. Does anyone know what the current status of Fremont Lake is concerning any safe ice yet? A girl has just got to know. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. ;)

Very little ice. Most of the lake is open water when I went by there today. It will probaly form ice on the rest of the lake tonight with the colder temps we are suposed to have. I see a warm up then for a few days after that. I don't know if we will ever get to ice fish on Fremont this year.

Thank you for the update. I think it was about 4 years ago, Fremont never froze to the point where you could ever trust the ice. I think this will be a repeat if the weather continues the way is has been.

Thinking that this year is going to be the same as four or five years ago. There is probably only going to be one or two weeks this winter where ya can safely get out on the ice.

Looking how nice it is today gets me thinking about hauling my boat back out of storage. Now that would be a surefire way to get ice.

Get your hubby to haul out that blue barge and hit the water. Next day or two would be ideal for that and those eyes are still there.

Ms "Ladygill",

That gem of the western side of the state, the Fremont Lake, also came up just a few days ago in the
snow thread, 5th page (http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=125153&page=5) in the Sound-Off forum. There is even a link to a snow picture of the ramps.

Haven't been by there today, but yesterday the ice was almost completely gone, the boat launch was open, but there was still a small shelf between the launch and the open water. Did see on boat out there last night, not sure if they used the launch or not.

Fremont will freeze. It freezes everynight it gets into the low 20's.
If we get 4 nights in the teens and 4 days in the 20's it will be good to go.
Was going to check the ice on the east side yesterday but there was a boat out.

I think my original reply had gotten a delete.
Would the moderator who deleted please send me a pm with explanation. Thanks.

I know this falls under Murphy's Law. Get out the boats and the ice will come. Will talk to the hubby about getting the boat out.

I am hopeful that the ice will form. Even a couple weeks on the ice will be better than none at all. Thank you for the info and will keep checking back for updates.
