Higgins Lake This Weekend

We will be heading up to Higgins this weekend and trying for smelt and trout if the ice is ok. If not we'll probably head over to Margrethe. Anyone else going to be there this weekend? We will be staying on the north side(American Legion).

Moonphase, Does Margreth have smelt in it ? If so, any suggestions where to start for someone new to the area please. A bunch of guys from ohio come to mi. smelting at higgins, most are saying no ice, so were looking at all possibilities ya know. Where is margrath located ? Any info would be appreciated .
