well it is better late than never. or in my case, you can never be too cautious. lapeer county and i found 5-6 inches of decent ice. not solid black but white with some air in it. solid though, anyways, we were only there to check the ice. we did spud two holes and kept 10 decent gills. average was 7in. not huge but good enough for my first time on the ice. waxies and glow in the dark jigs. three bass also, but we were only there for 1 1/2 hrs. tomorrow is a good day for me to go. so i will let you all know how it goes.
