West Branch/Skidway Area Ice?

Headed north this weekend any fishable ice in the area? Or around skidway area like elbow lake or skidway lake? Any info helpful.

I was on Secord last Sat-Sun. 6 in of good ice, stay away from strong current areas. Fishing was slow.

About 10 days ago I was out on Clear Lake (about 12 miles north of West Branch) and there was 8-10" of good ice. Wish I could say I caught some fish. One 10" smallmouth on a tip-up.

Just want to get on some ice havent been out much this year. Should be some around this weekend with the cold weather the last few nights. Ill be out on one of the many lakes in the area this weekend if I can stay away from tip up town in Houghton Lake. I'd really like to get some perch but I dont know if any of the lakes around my cabin in skidway actually hold perch if you know of any let me know and Ill let you know how we do.

Fairview, what part of clear lake did you fish? My parents have a place up there, but we haven't ice fished it in a few years. We did well on perch just in front of the boat launch in 18 or so fow. On the east shore it can be good for pike as well.
