Manistee Lake and Portage Lake

Manistee Lake still wide open. Boat and shore fishermen working but I do not know if they were successful. Portage Lake 7 in. ice on east end, lots and I mean lots of clothespin size perch.

Yup I found those little suckers there on portage on saturday.

Seems to be couple hundred dinks to each keeper perch. Largest caught so far is 12 inches. Good note though is that we have seen lots of pike. Took a 32 incher on a dink perch rigged up on a small rod with 4#test. Have not checked the guys fishing the shoreline in Manistee. Will try to do today if the wind doesnt keep them home.
