I am new to the area up here and have heard from a few people that Blue lake has Rainbows and lakers in it. Anyone ever had any luck with this lake at all? It is pretty deep with depths down to 86 ft. I am thinking of giving it a try this weekend. Any advice? Thanks a lot, if you dont want to post anything because this is a pretty small lake, feel free to email me at johnnie555@yahoo.com

Oh yeah Higgins is finally fishable, stoped by to check it out saturday evening. Went out to 40 ft of water off from the werst lauch and found 4 inches of ice. I would still be extremely caucious as the lake just seized up only a few days ago and might be iffy in some spots. Id reccomend a spud!

I am talking about the Blue lakes that lye straight east of Bass lake and to the north of bear lake Lake. They are found only a few miles north of m-72. has anyone fished them recently or heard of anyone catching any kind of trout there in the last year or two? There is two blue lakes "there" they are North blue lake and Big blue lake. Any info would help. Ive herd that you might catch a splake or two but that was about it.

Here's the DNR planting records for Blue Lake in Kalkaska Co.

Been trying to get up there this winter, but no luck. They haven't planted Splake or Rainbows in years, but Lake Trout have been almost every year since the late 70's.
