Silver Lake, Grand Traverse Co. Gills

I need some scouting advice. Heading to Silver Lake tomorrow and need a game plan. Deep water, shallow water or flats. I have never fished
Silver before but am looking for the large gills that it is know for. Thank you for your time and advice.
