Lapeer County Ice???

Been out of the loop lately. Any good ice on the lakes in Lapeer County? Went by Lake Pleasant today and saw one group of guys. Any word on the ice conditions at Nepessing, Elk, or any of the others????

I would think the ice would be alright, I fished a private lake in Lake Orion yesterday and it held about 5" of ice.

Dropped my friend off and drove by that private lake by skinner a group of a about5 were out there.

went to a lake just north of Clifford on Jan 21 (Clark Lake i think :confused: ) really good ice where i was at about 8 inches which included some frozen slush but it was all solid. trail to the lake was closed so you have to walk a little ways to the lake.i was not there very long, about a hour, but managed one 18" pike. there are also some big crappie in there if you can find them

Drove by Nepessing last Wednesday and saw 3 guys pulling out a permanent shanty with a snowmobile. That was before the 51 degree day we got last week. Drove by this morning and it's still there. Saw all kinds of shanty tracks on the ice and two people fishing this morning in the wind. People are fishing the lake. I don't know how the ice is personally, but people have been on it. It might be an option if itch'n for some fish'n!!

Stopped at Lk. Nepessing last night, 10-12 guys out scattered, 5-6 permanent shanties, and 3 motorcycles practicing on the ice.

I live over near Emmett,any suggestions on some lakes close by me?If not close I dont mind a drive,I think the closest would be Lakeville lake?Anyone ever wants to head out give me a holler.waiting for St.clair to freeze up!

ice is about 6in. get out and becareful. might not last long but winter must return SOON!!!!
