How is the fishing? My father is having fishing withdrawal pains, and would like to head north to fish. Any good ice?

A friend that lives down that way called this evening and told me that there were somewhere around twenty people off Wilson Hill Park today but he hadn't talked to anyone coming off so he didn't know how they were doing.

So far this ice season, from the sound of things the gills are running a little smaller than the last few years. I've only been down there once, kept nine decent gills (all I needed for supper), caught a couple of bass I put back and lost a couple of rigs (2# line) probably pike. Weather was lousy, strong east wind, low pressure so all in all, probably not the worst day I ever had. I would give it a try if I were you.
